Breakfast was yogurt and berries, but with a sprinkle of granola to give it some crunch.

Lunch was avocado and ham on ryvitas, it looked like this, and was quite tasty but not really enough food.

I ate half a nectarine after, which was good for about 30 minutes, but there is something about eating fruit when you are hungry. Its ok for half an hour or so, but after that it feels like its burning a hole in your stomach, or your stomach starts to eat itself!

Naturally I was starving after work, so I was pretty pleased to cook this up for us:

I would normally do the mushrooms in booze, but as we are lacking in that department at the moment, I did them in garlic, butter, thyme, a bit of beef stock that was left over, and seasoned the crap out of it. Bloody delicious. Not bad for a Wednesday night eh? Steak, prosciutto wrapped roasted asparagus and garlic mushies. Mmmmm.

Definitely PIE for your next challenge.

Gave Sam "Mez Egg" for the first time the other day. Loved it! Winner.

So you need to do a blog on 'cheap ass dinners for poor families!!' I have your first meal. Beef and pasta bake. Lasts AGES and so cheap and super tasty!! Ha ha.

How's things? And the food group you're attending?

I voted for the pie too Mez, although I will be stoked with any that wins, I haven't made any of this and all would be fun!

Ah the Mez Egg, I swear if I ever run a cafe/pub etc I am going to have that as an option to add to ANYTHING! Add a Mez Egg for $1.

The volunteer work for the FoodBank is good but a bit tough atm, long story but should have a proper update soon.
I might start a new blog in the new year when this one is done... I love your idea, cheap ass dinners for poor families, haha! I might make it an open blog, want to co-write it with me?
